Rapper Mystikal is free on bond. Mystikal whose real name is Michael Tyler, signed a new record contract which an advancement was granted. Three million dollars was raised for his bond. So, the advancement money along with family funds were collected to pay for his bond. In August 2017, Mystikal was changed with first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping.
Lawyer Joel Pearce told TMZ, “Based on all of the evidence we have, we strongly believe that an amicable resolution is not only possible but probable as an outcome in this case and that Michael Tyler will never be made to return to jail for a crime he didn’t commit.” Furthermore, the believe that he will eventually be cleared of all charges.
Rape and Kidnapping
The New Orleans based rapper is accused of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping, stemming from an alleged sexual assault at a Shreveport Casino in October 2016. In fact, it took authorities almost ten months to file charges against Tyler, and bail was set at $3 million dollars. Mystikal is now free on bond. He served six years in prison, from 2003 to 2010, after pleading guilty to sexual battery and extortion. He served another three months in 2012 for domestic abuse battery.
At one point in time Mystikal had hits on the radio. He is a talented rapper and I’m excited to see that he has signed a new record deal. He first has to go through trial to see what his future will be. In the meantime, lets hope he makes some music while he is out on bond.
